Celebrate learning with The Willow School! Join us for one of our student-led interactive exhibits:

May 31 A THIRD GRADE SPACE ODYSSEY (Third Grade) 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. Science, language arts and math are all integrated into the third grade’s study of the solar system. Join our students as they share what they’ve learned and created, including a hallway-sized model of the solar system and their own science fiction stories!

May 31 A TOUR OF ANCIENT ROME (Sixth Grade) 8:40 – 9:30 a.m. Sixth grade social studies students curate this interactive exhibit and act as tour guides through Rome. Your tour of this ancient civilization will help you understand what a day in the life of a Roman was like, from the everyday to the extraordinary.

June 1 SAY ‘HELLO’ TO HOMINIDS (Fourth Grade) 8:30 – 10:15 a.m. Fourth grade students share what they’ve learned about evolution, early humans, and African cultures. The class will read collaborative poems, share mind maps, and teach parents and guests how to use the iceberg model to assess the consequences of external change. Students also assume the role of paleoartists and create a character of the hominid species, teaching parents and guests about the role that they played in our success as a species.

June 2 CREATING SUSTAINABLE CULTURES (Fifth Grade) 10 – 11:15 a.m. Fifth grade students explore what is gained and what is lost in the development of civilization by creating their own utopias. Students draw on their studies of hunter-and-gather and ancient civilizations to construct their own sustainable utopian island. Come see what they’ve imagined!

June 2 TRAVELING ON THE SILK ROAD (Seventh Grade) 8:40 – 9:30 a.m. Seventh graders will be your guide as you travel along the Silk Road in this student-curated, interactive exhibit.  Find out how the ideas, products, and customs exchanged on this ancient “internet of antiquity” changed the world.
