Finally. The School You Have Been Searching For.
Let's Start a ConversationSmall Classes. Joyful Learning. Virtues & Community.
Welcome to Willow, a leading Age 3-Grade 8 independent school serving 120 students from Gladstone, Bedminster, Mendham, Far Hills, Morristown, and 20+ communities in Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris, and Essex counties in New Jersey. For families seeking a better, more progressive elementary or middle school experience, The Willow School offers:
Small classes: In PreK, kindergarten, and Lower School (Grades 1-3) our maximum class size is 14; our maximum class size in middle school (Grades 4-8) is 16. This ensures a more personalized education, allowing dedicated Willow faculty to teach students the way they learn best.
A joyful approach to learning: As a private school in New Jersey, Willow has the independence to create a more dynamic curriculum, engage students in Systems Thinking and many Academic Innovations unique to our school, and infuse classes with joy whether we’re on campus or online. We set higher standards for learning and for our day-to-day relationships with one another and our natural world.
Virtues & community sets Willow apart from other public, private, and alternative schools. The active practice of virtues such as kindness, courage, responsibility, respect, and service is embedded into every aspect of school life. Virtues strengthen our community and are the basis for our Unrivaled School Culture that teaches students how to advocate for themselves and lead others.
