Willow Hosts Maple Festival on March 5

*RESCHEDULED TO MARCH 5 DUE TO SNOW* Each year, Willow students in kindergarten, second grade, and seventh grade team up for a month-long maple syrup-making project. This fun, experiential learning project will culminate on Tuesday, March 5th, with a whole school Maple Festival!

You’re invited! Join us at the campfire at 8:00am where the maple sap that students collected from trees on campus will be boiling. At this special Morning Gathering, second graders will share the medicine wheels they made with their maple-tapping team and tell us about the Lenape’s maple legend. Seventh graders will present data about how much sap was collected. Kindergarteners will lead the group in an original song, “Old Maple Tree.” After Morning Gathering, kindergarteners will show you and your family the trees they tapped and explain the maple sugaring process. Learn more about this awesome, integrated, multi-grade STEAM project here.

Sign ups for the Maple Festival are now closed. Check back around this time next year for our 2020 Maple Festival!
